First Pintxo Bar Party at HARO: May 28, 3--8pm

HARO will be open on Sunday, May 20 for our first Pintxo Bar Party. We will be serving strictly pintxos all night. Try over 30 unique types. Beer, cider, sangria and wine will be the only drinks served for the evening.

HARO will be set-up in a casual setting. All sit- down tables will be removed. The room will be lined with benches and there will be high tables spread through out the room.

"Running of the Bulls" theme party: June 16- 18

The running of the bulls is a tradition of Pamplona 's San Fermin Festival, dating back to the 16th century, when the best way to get bulls from outside the city to the bull ring was to herd them through the streets.

HARO will be celebrating this event at Italian Festival with a "Running of the Bulls" theme party. Participants will be required to wear white to the event. Red scarves and belts will be provided.

Lovers of Spanish wine and food will be in heaven beginning mid-May, as A Taste of Navarra Gastronomic Week is celebrated in Chicago. The Chamber of Commerce in Navarra, Spain, is working with eleven top Chicago restaurants, and these carefully selected spots will feature special dishes and wines from the Navarra region.

HARO is proud to be amongst the selected restaurants to participate in the Taste of Navarra in Chicago. Make sure you ask for our special menu featuring dishes and wines of Navarra.

Alberto de Almar: May 11, 14, and 16

His music is a mixture of contemporary and traditional Flamenco and world music. Flamenco classics, upbeat rhumbas, hauntingly beautiful melodies and mysterious ancient rhythms take the listener on a passionate journey across a vast enigmatic musical landscape.

HARO will be open for Mother's Day from 3-8p on Sunday, May 14 with performance from Alberto de Almar.

Coffee, desserts, wine and sangria will be the only refreshments served for the evening.

In 1993-1994, Pansekyto toured throughout the United States and Central America. He performed with the Spanish singer Raphael in the 1996 production of Andaluz. He has performed with the singer Isabel Pantoja in the movie Yo Soy Esa, and in the same year performed with the Spanish duo Azúcar Moreno as part of their musical recording in South America of Devórame Otra Vez. He has recorded for Spanish television accompanying the Flamenco singer, El Potito. He has also performed with guitarist Tomatito, and accompanied the legendary Camaron de la Isla and Lola Flores. With the guitarist Raimundo Amador, he participated in the presentation of Rosario Flores’disc Ley in Madrid. Pansequito has a CD entitled No Hay Dos Sin Tres.

The focus of the evening will be a special presentation on wines popular in the Basque region of Spain. These unique wines are new to Chicago. Be the first to experience the popular Basque grape Varietal Hondarribi Zurri. HARO will also be serving pintxos to accompany the wine.

El Payo is the only Rumba/Nuevo Flamenco group of its class in Chicago. Their distinct sound is influenced by a rich combination of upbeat rumbas, traditional and nuevo flamenco, as well as a repertoire of classic Latin American songs.
